the handwriting on the wall. when you look at these bipartisan votes, you have paul ryan voting for higher taxes. you have both ryan and rubio voting for immigration reform now. and i think you're going to see enough votes in the center to raise the debt ceiling without any kind of -- chris: are they jumping shark on this? >> i think so. i think the public is certainly sick of it. and i also think the business community doesn't want to hear anything about shutting down the government. chris: you're the expert. i real me mean this. people advise me on making financial decisions. they think the economy looks pretty good. don't mess it up. >> it does look pretty good, as best we can tell. the one thing to remember is it's not just the debt ceiling. it's these automatic cuts that are scheduled to take place march 16789 the debt ceiling isn't their only opportunity to try to get the president to agree to cuts. there are looming deadlines. so i think the republicans will get obama to agree to some cuts, even if we don't have a really economically damaging showdown. chris: how are we going to deal to e
